Wrinkle reduction

Two types of lines are present in our face, static lines and dynamic lines. Static lines are present at all the time; however, dynamic lines occur during facial expression. Botulinum toxin (commonly known as Botox) used to treat dynamic lines. Botulinum toxin works by relaxing facial muscles and softening dynamic lines (not completely eliminating). There are numerous muscles in our face. The most commonly treated areas are forehead, frown lines between the eyes (glabellar area) and crow’s feet lines which occur at the outer corner of eyes. It may be used on the upper sidewall of nose (bunny lines), soften fold in the neck and also in the armpits to reduce excessive sweating.

The treatment takes about 15 – 20 minutes depending on the areas. No anaesthesia is required. Immediately after the procedure you may notice bleeding at the injection site and occasional bruising but this will settle. Botulinum toxin is very safe and been used for many years. You will not notice any difference for first few days and find that the effect will reduce after 3-4 months.
